the first withdrawal protection with aBG
The wood-concrete composite ceiling (HBV ceiling) efficiently combines the properties and strengths of two different building materials to create a high-performance construction element. The advantages are increased load-bearing capacity with lower weight and longer spans. One of the most economical methods is the bond via cervicals. A fastener is required to secure the timber and concrete against lifting.
The REISSER KVB connector is the first connector for HBV ceilings with shear connectors to receive general type approval (aBG Z-9.1-916). This is the first time that lift-off protection has been clearly regulated.
The REISSER KVB-connectors screwed vertically into the timber constructions are used to absorb tensile forces between the concrete slab and the timber component in the area of the birdsmouth joints. As a lift-off lock, they transfer axial tensile loads at right angles to the bond joint between concrete and wood. Depending on the structural model, KVB-connectors can be placed both inside and outside the birdsmouth joints.
The technical specification DIN CEN/TS 19103 (for the next generation of Eurocodes), which has not yet been introduced, requires a lift-off lock.
The aBG Z-9.1-916 of the REISSER KVB-connector contains load-bearing capacity tables to facilitate the design of the lift-off lock. This is because four failure criteria must be analysed, such as pull-out failure of the REISSER screws from the timber component, steel tension failure of the REISSER screws, conical concrete break-out and pull-out of the REISSER screws from the concrete. With the help of the load-bearing capacity values in the tables, the check can be carried out easily without having to recalculate each failure criterion individually.
- Thanks to the sleeve, automatic depth limitation in wood and concrete is guaranteed.
- This increases the quality of workmanship thanks to the reliable screwing in of the connectors.
- As no additional tools are required, time is saved.
- The KVB-connector is ready for immediate use thanks to the pre-assembled accessories.
EASY TO DISMANTLE
Efficient recycling according to the cradle-to-cradle principle and our KVB-connector
Sustainability comes from well thought-out products: The Cradle to Cradle (C2C) principle pursues the goal of developing products in such a way that their materials can be used in closed cycles.
To achieve this, we have added a clever cover to the KVB-connector:
The screw is screwed in as normal and the cover is then placed on the screw head. After concreting, part of the cover remains visible.
During dismantling, the fastening elements can be easily found and efficiently separated from other materials.
materials.
This innovation supports easy recycling and promotes sustainable construction.
